Harry Specters

Award winning Harry Specters was founded by Mona, and inspired by her son Ash.

Parents of children who have autism face massive uncertainty about how their child’s future and the lack of opportunity meant that Mona and her husband Shaz had this constant worry about Ash’s future.

It was while on a family holiday in Scotland in 2011 that Mona, a keen baker and chocolate lover had inspiration. She was browsing a chocolate shop and thought of the perfect way to combine her passions, creating positive change for people who have autism and her love of chocolate.

In every piece of Harry Specters chocolate is the promise that it has improved the life of an autistic person. You'll find the hustling and bustling chocolate factory in Cambridgeshire, where autistic people are involved in every aspect of the business – from making and packaging the products to administration, design and photography.

The mission is to offer confidence and hope to young people with autism by providing employment and free training.

Harry Specters website carries statistics of the number of people who have autism and the number who are in work. It is a stark reality. However they also have a formulary for creating opportunities for autistic people and have a social impact framework which they follow with the goal to employ more and more people who have autism.

Of every £1 spent 69 pence goes directly to support people who have autism.

If that isn’t a good enough reason to buy their chocolate, it tastes amazing. Mona hasn’t just become a Chocolatier, she is award winning and produces the finest chocolate you will probably ever taste.

And who is Harry Specters? Well, that's a good question, and one you'd have to ask Ash, since he came up with the name.
