Thank you

Emma Saysell, the founder of Spectrum of Misconception, would like to thank all customers for their support during 2022. This social enterprise wouldn’t be possible without their continued support. Each placed order has a massive impact on the people that work here. They find joy and purpose with each and every single order to fulfil. So Thank you again massively for your orders this year.

Looking at 2022 , we decided to make a change to the way we were doing things. We decided to find other enterprises and businesses which are inclusive and are built around those involved, who have autism’s strengths and sell their products. In doing this people who have autism are involved from start to finish in the process of production and delivery to your door.

  • We have continued to sell Harry Specters award winning chocolates at events and next year would like to include a selection on our website, you may have seen them on channel 5 win a contract with Aldi which is brilliant and sure to raise more awareness.

  • We have also sold Wonky candles for the second year in a row, they remain popular, and people are always intrigued by the name.

  • We have made new connections with Grace’s Generation Soap, which is made by Amelie and her Mother, Sue. Natural Health shops in Hertford and Welwyn Garden City have started selling it in their shops too.

  • Castaway Cottage sell beautiful bath and shower treats which have been a big success for us, we sell their bath bombs, shower steamers, shampoo bars and wax melts. All of which smell amazing and anyone who finds our stall at an event comment on the smells coming from it, people who know us follow their noses to find the stall.

  • Lastly, we are selling some of Born Anxious back packs and hope to increase their product range next year. The back packs all carry wonderful messages which just give the person reading it a little reminder. Zach now has a number of their label and seam free sweatshirts hanging in his wardrobe.

We have also made several other connections which I hope will result in us being able to increase our product range in 2023.

We announced Dame Laura Kenny as our ambassador, and we are incredibly grateful to her for promoting our enterprise and the work we do. Laura is a wonderful and warm, caring person and we are proud to have her involvement.

Through our website we have received several requests from parents who are looking for work opportunities for their child, it makes me even more aware of the difficulties people who have autism face when they finish their formal education and more determined to raise our profile and show what people can do when they have the opportunity.

All that remains is for us to wish you all a Merry Christmas. Christmas with someone who has autism is not always conventional, but it is still Christmas however we spend it. We wish you a very Happy and Healthy New Year and hope you will return to support us again in 2023.
