A word from our Ambassador Dame Laura Kenny

From SOM’s launch in 2017, Dame Laura has been a big supporter of our enterprise, helping to raise awareness about our work and purpose. She has proudly worn Spectrum of Misconception’s World Autism Awareness T-shirts and has continued to highlight our enterprise on her social media channels.

Dame Laura says: “I am delighted to become Ambassador for Spectrum of Misconception. It is a social enterprise whose purpose is to provide vocational opportunities to individuals with autism and learning disabilities, whilst raising awareness and sharing vital messages. I am excited to support this social enterprise and I am looking forward to continuing to help raise awareness of Spectrum’s work.”

Emma Saysell, Founder of Spectrum of Misconception adds: “Laura knows all about the importance of hard work. In her career, she acknowledges that even small daily achievements have a huge impact on how she feels, while momentous progress gives her an immense boost. She fully understands that adults with autism and complex needs also need opportunities to feel this way about the working experience as well as to gain pleasure from the social interactions that work offers, just like she has in her life at the velodrome and events around the world.
We are very grateful for Laura’s engagement and recognition of the importance of our enterprise.”
